Pep bemoans familiar Man City problem: ‘It happened again’

Pep Guardiola claims Manchester City “did really well” and was left bemoaning a familiar problem as they lost 2-0 to Spurs.
Hugo Lloris saved an Ilkay Gundogan penalty at the end of a first half in which City missed a host of good chances as Spurs rode their luck.

The visitors continued to dominate the second period before Oleksandr Zinchenko was given a second yellow card for bringing down Harry Winks.
And Spurs took the lead soon after as new signing Steven Bergwijn controlled and volleyed in superbly from the edge of the area for a brilliant debut goal.
Son Heung-min then doubled their lead as his deflected shot beat Edinson at his near post.
City continued to push but failed to convert three or four further chances.
Guardiola told Sky Sports: “We played well but lost the game. It happened again. They had two shots and scored two goals.
“I don’t have too many things to say about the performance. We have to accept it and analyse it. It is not easy. We did really well, honestly.
“With this performance, how should I be critical? This performance would be an incredible mistake to say how bad they are. We created chances and conceded few.
“A few times this season it has happened. The sending off was a key point. We said at half-time be careful, yellow cards are a fast and quick action.”
